Why Saudi Arabia imports sand and how it affects environments
Ok, so why Saudi Arabia imports sand and being a country covered with 90% of sand why they import from other countries where it can just transport sand by trucks?
so Saudia Arabia is a middle eastern country with a population of 34.14 million imports sand from countries like hungry and India etc.., and being a nation with mostly covered with sand why it imports sand from a country like India, Saudia Arabia had proposed a big infrastructure boost to its economy and made a mission of vision 2030, by it Saudi Arabia will transform it’s transforming its buildings and infrastructure, what is it building, Saudi Arabia recently built a hotel called Makkah Royal Clock Tower Hotel which is taller than most of the buildings in the excluding some so why building a tower is a problem, most people don’t know that to construct a building we need some amount of sand mixed in concrete but the sand required to construct has to have some special characteristics so the soft sand from Saudi Arabia is not suitable for that so it requires an special sand which is beach sand, and Saudi is rich but it has less sand beaches so to construct an ultra-modern city and to boast it’s infrastructure and show case the world about it’s cabaility and make less depend on oil income they are making this project
So, why it is a problem for the environment, this type of sand is only found in some countries like India and Hungary and it is non-renewable and recycling concrete is also not on a huge scale so extracting more and more will we be exhausted and it will affect the coral relief of this countries by extracting more the coral reliefs and the aquaculture is damaged and it is a huge problem so I need you all to raise a campaign for making this world a better place so I am signing a petition in CHANGE.ORG so please sign it so that we can help this world be a better place
